1935-1994. Award-winning Watercolor Artist and Illustrator. Born in Brooklyn, NYC, lived in Staten Island NY. Member of the American Watercolor Society, Society of Illustrators, Audubon Artists, Salmagundi Club NY, Knickerbocker Artists, Navy Combat Artist and listed in the Biographical Encyclopedia of American Painters, Sculptors and Engravers.

Augie Napoli Graduated from the School of Visual Arts, Manhattan and began a career as an illustrator and commercial artist in the late 50's. Starting out in greeting card design then Topps Chewing Gum from 1972 through 1984. He was the artist responsible for the design of Topps trading cards and products. Baseball and all sports cards as well as Wacky Package, Cabbage Patch and movie card sets to name just a few.Griffin Bacal Inc. 1985-1994. He also freelanced. With a wide variety of style and skillful use of various mediums, he excelled as a storyboard artist as well as a designer of new product logos, greeting cards, comic strip art, cartoons, illustration, children's books and of course his fine art.

Fine art was always a passion; his medium of choice was watercolors. Augie, a member of The American Watercolor Society, and winner of almost 200 awards was also a member of the Salmagundi Club, the Society of Illustrators, Audubon Artists and Graphic Artist's Guild. Throughout the 1960's and 70's he was a regular at the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit in New York City where he won Grand prize in 1974. In 1976 he was one of 40 artists commissioned by the Naval Art Cooperation and Liaison ( N.A.C.A.L.) to capture the Operation Sail Bicentennial Celebration. He was awarded the N.A.C.A.L. Gold Medal for those works and subsequently earned a listing in Who's Who in American Art. Those paintings remain on display in the Naval Combat Museum in Washington D.C. Helen & Augie's Art-An-Tiques opened in 1977 on Staten Island. Art Gallery/frame shop/ Art school and Antique boutique. Augie shared his talents instructing, lecturing and giving demonstrations in Watercolor and commercial art. After assisting Ed Whitney, A.W.S., A.N.A., with painting workshops in Kennebunkport, Maine from 1976-1980, he conducted his own watercolor workshops along the East Coast.

Through the years, Augie also enjoyed getting involved in various special projects, such as creating and constructing set designs for several Brooklyn Archdiocese productions. Augie was also represented in galleries in New York, Maine and Florida.
